Cheeseburger Macaroni

The days are heating up, my friends.  90's here already in Texas.

Welcome to Summer!

I find it hard to get motivated to cook when it is so hot outside.

I whipped this up last night just on a whim.  Because I was looking for something easy.

Cheeseburger Macaroni

Ingredients

1 1/2-2 pounds ground meat
1 small onion, chopped
2 tsp Paula Deen's House Seasoning (scoll down to the bottom of the post)
2 small cans tomato sauce
1/2 brick cream cheese
2 cups Cheddar Cheese, divided
7 oz macaroni (I used whole-wheat Rotini because the 5 year old loves the 'springy noodles' and I'm not above bribery to get him to eat.)

Now, none of the measurements are an exact science.  In place of the house seasoning you can use some garlic powder, pepper and salt.

Directions:

Brown ground meat with chopped onion and seasonings until no pink remains.  Drain excess fat.  Mix the tomato sauce and cream cheese in.
While the meat mixture is simmering, cook the noodles according to package directions until al dente.
Mix pasta in with the meat.
Spoon 1/2 of the mixture into a 9x13 ungreased pan.  Cover with 1 cup of the cheese.  Spoon remaining beef mixture and cover with remaining cheese.
Cover with foil and bake 20 minutes at 400˚.  Uncover, and continue baking for another 10 minutes.
