I'm trying something new and different this year. I stumbled upon
this blog on where? You guessed it! Pinterest.
I gathered an assortment of Kool-aid
and several coffee mugs with 2/3 cup water in each. The 'dye' stuck almost immediately, but we kept the eggs in the water for about 5 minutes each.
From left to right, the colors are Strawberry, Peach Mango, Mixed Berry, Cherry, Orange, Lemon-lime, Strawberry-Lemonade, and Grape-Pink Lemonade. As you can see, all the 'red' Kool-aids turned out looking the same, no matter how long they were kept in. And, I did not like the grape-pink lemonade mixture, so I added a packet of Mixed Berry to it. Here's how that one turned out.
Still an odd color but better, I think. They warned me against using Grape, but I didn't listen. But, now we're ready for the Easter Bunny to come and hide all the pretty Kool-aid dyed eggs.
